Emerson offers mechanical thermal expansion valves and electronic expansion valves for a variety of HVAC-R applications. Thermal Expansion Valves (TXVs) are precision devices designed to regulate the rate of refrigerant liquid flow into the evaporator in the exact proportion to the rate of evaporation of the refrigerant liquid in the evaporator.

Electronic expansion valves provide system performance over a wide range of system operating capacity under tighter operating conditions. it allows for reduction of system costs and energy saving and it can be used for high pressure applications .
