Distribution - Manufacturing Process (Distribution Transformers)


All Transformers are designed and tested as per National and International standards and in accordance with IS 2026/1977. Quality assurance is an important part of the Company’s policy. All the raw materials which go into the transformer are subject to strict and rigorous inspection at all stages of manufacturing.


• Core

The core used is best quality cold rolled grain oriented and laser processed silicon steel sheets confirming to the latest international standards, they provide low iron loss, low noise, and compact size and have the best performance for high efficiency transformer.


• Windings

We use high quality conductors of copper – Aluminium in our products. The windings have a compact size, excellent heat transmission, low load loss, high lightning impulse receptivity and outstanding anti-short-circuit strength.


• Connection and Tappings

- Copper transformers brazed or soldered or as per customer requirement.
- Aluminium transformers all joints are welded.


• Insulation

The insulation material used is checked for high dielectric strength, moisture retardation, good ageing properties, compatibility with transformer oil and high temperature withstanding capacity.


• Tanks

• All our tanks are fabricated with high grade tested mild steel.
• We ensure adequate wall and base thickness to withstand high pressures.
• Pressed sheet steel radiators are used for cooling ensuring that greater surface area is available for heat dissipation. Radiators are independently pressure tested.
• Perfect welding for dimensional accuracy and double welds with extra tests for oil tightness to ensure no leakage.
• Cooling system is properly designed to have proper self thermo siphon system which helps to minimize the temperature gradient between winding and oil.
• The interior surface of tank is cleaned by chemical and coated with oil resistant zinc chromate primer.

All tanks are tested for pressure as well as vacuum.


• Clamps

Specially designed pre-load structure, to resist axial electromagnetic force. Reinforced clamps so that the coils increase their anti-axial and radial strength, making the coils compact and attain the best anti-short-circuit strength. This guarantees safety of the system when an abnormal breakdown occurs.


• Bushings

HV/LV Bushings : Quality porcelain bushings are used on the high voltage terminals/low voltage terminals. High voltage cables are inserted directly and show no live parts outside.


• Finishing

Zinc chromate primer paint and weather resisting enamel coat for stronger resistance. The inner surface is given a coat of oil resistant paint.
