Established in the year 2000, Conweld Engineering Services is an ISO 9001:2008 certified manufacturer, exporter and supplier of a wide range of weldable fasteners. These include Metal Rivets, Sheet Metal Rivets, Insulation Pins, Insulation Clips, Capacitor Discharge Studs, Short Cycle Welding Studs, Rivets. In addition, we also provide Stud Welding Collets, Arc Welding Studs, Ceramic Ferrules and Cold Forged Items. These are fabricated using mild steel, stainless steel, aluminium alloy, brass, copper and others. Our strength as a leading manufacturer lies in our sophisticated manufacturing unit equipped with modern machinery.

♦ Our Quality Assurance

Being an ISO certified organization, it is evident to maintain strict quality norms in our entire business activities. Our range of studs is subjected to inspection and testing conducted by our quality controllers. The studs are tested by mechanical / destructive testing, using a torque wrench, which indicates whether the strength is within prescribed torque value. Our range of products is manufactured in compliance with following standards: ISO 9001:2008, DIN 32501, EN ISO 13918, EN ISO 14555

Further, test certificates are issued as per standard Quality Control norms and the non-destructive inspection can be conducted by using a torsion meter or other methods.

♦ Our Infrastructure

We have a well developed infrastructure located at MIDC, Bhosari, Pune, and sprawls across a wide area. Well segregated into different units such as manufacturing unit, testing laboratory, R & D and warehouse unit, we are able to meet the bulk requirement of our clients within short span of time. Our manufacturing unit is installed with hi-tech machines such as: Lathe machine, Cutting machine, Welding machine. Each machine is regularly cleaned and lubricated to ensure smooth and effective functioning. Our in-house design unit enables our skilled workforce to produce welding studs in standard and customized sizes.

Process:

Capacitor Discharge Stud Welding:
+ Welding energy is obtained from banks of capacitors which is charged to the voltage selected for the particular application.
+ This energy is discharged through the stud projection / tip, giving a high density current which disintegrates the small projection / tip on the base of the stud
+ This leaves an ionised gap between stud and work piece across which the welding current continues to flow in the form of an arc
+ Pressure from the return spring in the welding tool forces the stud onto the work piece, completing the weld in a split-second
+ The capacitor discharge stud welding system operates on a single-phase 50Hz A.C. Mains supply at 220/240 volts.

Arc Stud Welding (SW): -
+ The stud is loaded into a stud welding gun, the ferrule / arc shield is placed in position over the end of the stud, and the gun is properly positioned over the work piece.
+ The trigger is then depressed, starting the automatic welding cycle
+ A solenoid coil within the body of the gun is energized
+ This lifts the stud off the work piece and, at the same time, creates an arc
+ The end of the stud and the work piece are melted by the arc
+ When the preset arc period is completed, the welding current is automatically shut off and the solenoid de-energized by the control unit
+ The mainspring of the gun plunges into the molten pool on the work to complete the weld
+ The gun is then lifted from the stud and the ferrule is broken off
+ The arc stud welding system operates on a 3-phase 50Hz A.C. mains supply at 440 volts using a DC power source with high open circuit voltage.
