» Nature and importance of drawing dies
The correct shape of a die profile has a number of individual sections. The optimal form of such a die geometry is dependant on a number of parameters such as: Die material (tungsten carbide, natural diamond, synthetic polycrystalline diamond), wire (soft or hard, ferrous or non ferrous, sizes), the chosen drawing process (wet or dry), and other parameters such as reduction, elongation, drawing speed, lubricant etc. The selection of suitable die materials and die geometry determines both the production performance and the quality of the end product together with the life of the die.
» Natural diamond drawing dies.
Natural monocrystalline diamond is the. hardest known material almost twice as hard as cubic boron nitride. Approximately 6% only of all rough natural diamonds are suitable for the production of drawing dies. At the same time, considerable demands in terms of selection of quality and careful workmanship are made on die manufacturers.
» Synthetic Polycrystalline Diamond (PED) drawing dies
Synthetic PED die blanks are produced by mixing carefully graded diamond powder with a metallic bond. sintering it into solid cores of polycrystalline structure, using a very special "high temperature high pressure process." The resulting mass. comprising randomly oriented interfering. particles, is usually supported by a ring of tungsten carbide or special steel, to facilitate the fixing of the blank in a case.
» Diamond Wheels. Diamond Files. Internal Grinding Pins..
Electroplated diamond tools have clear advantages over other types of tools that ensure widespread applications in a multiplicity of industries. Employing electroplating technologies of, large tools such as centreless grinding wheels become relatively easy and economical. Some of the other advantages are:
• Very easy to produce complicated profiles
• Very thin diamond layers can be deposited
•These tools have a very free cutting action advantageous in matching materials that tend to
load the tools such as glass fibre re inforced plastics.
» G.S. Electroplated Diamond Wheels
A single layer of abrasive is bonded to a nickel electroplated wheel shank. These electroplated wheels have better efficiencies in terms of:
• Reduction of operating time
• Better surface finish etc. in grinding sintered carbide, glass, ceramics, ferrite and other hard
metals.
These wheels run smoothly, maintain their size. can be run wet or dry and if used properly will give a longer life. They can also be used for roughing or for fine finishing, depending upon the grit size.
» G.S. Diamond files
Diamond files are recommended for grinding tungsten carbide, steel ceramic materials, glass etc. and are available in six pieces per set in different profiles: triangle, flat, half round, square, knife and round. These files are manufactured using high quality selected diamonds employing latest plating techniques.
» G.S. Internal Grinding Pins
Internal grinding pins are used for small diameter machining and high speed grinding. Diamonds are deposited in every possible shape, providing the internal grinding wheels with a wide range of capabilities even for applications such as internal grinding of carbide dies!wear parts. The advantages of the pins are: . Enable faster stock removal. Generate more production. Can avoid coolant. Avoids dressing. Makes it easy for complicated forms.

» Performance of PCD Dies
The performance of PCD dies when drawing copper is so remarkable that they frequently replace other die materials for this type of application. In drawing rods up to 7.60mm in diameter, improvements of even 200 or 300 times over and above the performance of tungsten carbide can be expected. In the smaller diameters PCD dies outperform natural diamond single crystals by four times or more.

» Enamelling dies for vertical and horizontal machines
G.S. Dies are manufactured for a whole range of vertical and horizontal machines and have been successfully employed on such advanced equipment as Sicme of Italy and Mag of Austria. They are used to produce a comprehensive series of enamelled wires
» Machines Used
G.S. Dies maintains the strictest quality control procedures at every stage of manufacture. We use the latest cutting-edge technologies and state-of-the-art equipment to ensure that our products draw extra kilometres of wires.
In the manufacturing process, cleaning of various parts at various stages plays a very significant role from the point of view of end quality of the product. Very high production rates with very high degree of cleanliness levels demand an intense and precise cleansing technique. 'Ultrasonic Cleaning' is the most effective method in the modern manufacturing techniques. G.S. Dies employs only the best and most modern machines for fabricating our dies.
