2,2- Azobis Iso Butyronitrile is known as Genitron, Azobisisobutyronitrile, AIBN, 2,2'-Azobis(2-methylpropionitrile), Aivn, Azdh, Vazo, Pianofor an, 2,2'-AZOBIS (ISOBUTYRONITRILE) and comes with Molecular Formula of C8H12N4 and Molecular Weight of 164.20768. It is manufactured by oxidation of alpha, alpha'-hydrazobutyric acid dinitrile and is available in crystal form using ethanol, water/white powder.

Coming with Melting Point of 221 DEG F (105 DEG C), it has solubility in solubility ethanol @ 0, 20, 40 DEG C: 0.58, 2.04, 7.15 G/100 ML and in methanol @ 0, 20, 40 DEG C: 1.8, 4.96, 16.06 G/100 ML. Other than this, it also has solubility in many org solvents and vinyl monomers.
