About us
Taj Auto Accessories has been in this line of business since 1952. We basically cater to automobile spares parts requirements. We have pioneered many components in the automobile component line. We started manufacturing items for the Indian Department of Defense in 1964. Later in 1972, we started manufacturing sheet metal parts for automobile spares and sold them in the after sales market to the local garages. In 1981, we manufactured the Luggage Carrier and Safety guard for Maruti vehicle as it had no boot and was considered a very light car compared to the cars in that period. In 1986, we were approached by M/s. Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. to develop bumpers for their new model MM540 (based on Chrysler Jeep) with Peugot engine. In 1988, we started supplies to M/s Premier Automobiles Ltd. for their Premier Padmini vehicle. Since then we have grown by leaps and bounds. Today we are known for manufacturing high quality, low cost components, which have tremendous value engineering substance.
We have developed and supplied many items for our multinational clients. We have recently developed the single piece drawn combination Meter-cum-Switch panel Electrical box for a major company in the Utility sector.
We are a company progressing at a fast pace with clear goals in sight. We are ISO 9001:2000 certified. We also plan to upgrade our existing tool room facilities from currently basic, to a highly modern and well-equipped one.
One of our future visions is to be associated with progressive and esteemed organizations, which respect our talents and considers us, appropriate to be included in their list of quality-oriented suppliers
Taj Auto Accessories in a short span of time has become a name to reckon with in the field of metal stamping and deep drawn sheet metal components. We can give any intricate shape to any sheet metal.
As we have our own in-house tool designing and tool manufacturing facility, we have a unique edge to make components to suit specific customer requirements.
Mission Statement
The The Key Objective of the company is "To continue being the best in fabrication solutions for the automobile spare parts industry in India finding simple yet innovative solutions and indigenizing technologies resulting in a "First" domestic product in line with global quality standards"
Pioneers
We have developed many components, which are considered benchmarks in the Indian Automobile Industry's history. In the era of our supplying to spares market we were the first to develop lower panels, which converted an HM Ambassador Mark III to Mark IV. We were the only manufacturers of OE type chassis for Ambassador Vehicle. In M/s. PAL, we developed and designed the bumpers for Premier 118NE, in sheet metal to replace the PP bumpers. These added strength and aesthetics to the vehicle and also brought down their warranty failure costs.
We have developed many components for M/s. M&M Ltd., during our still going strong association with them. We developed the bumpers for their MM540 vehicle, which was a first for M/s. M&M Ltd., as they had always used the chassis member as a bumper, in the past. We developed a single piece Fender Top Panel, to replace the multi-piece and multi-jointed one. This development reduced their warranty failure claims considerably and resulted in cost savings. We developed the intricately formed Rear Bumper for Bolero in sheet metal, which at first sight and common logic suggests a plastic form.
We have pioneered in metal stamping, deep drawn-sheet metal components designing, and also innovative production processes. We were the pioneers in developing highly sophisticated defense parts using conservative machinery like a Hand Press. We used the Hand Press in reverse/forward motion to obtain the end product which would otherwise require a CNC Broaching machine. We were the pioneers in developing original type chassis for Ambassador Vehicle which was preferred over the original in replacement cases by the garages. We were the first to develop the grill bases panels as an attachment which would convert the Ambassador Mark III model to a Mark IV. The dealers converted vehicles using this product and reaped good returns. We were the first to develop Luggage carriers for Maruti Vehicles which lacked boot space and were an instant huge hit with our customers. Even with the Original vehicle manufacturers, we gave them redesigned products with value addition. We developed our own single piece Bumpers instead of 3 piece construction they were using adding integral strength of one piece construction and enhancing the aesthetic value. Similar was the case with fenders for the CL Class of vehicle (Now CJ). We also pioneered "closed construction" in sheet metal while developing the Bolero rear bumpers, considered impossible to achieve in sheet metal. We were first to use a 3-stage draw operation to achieve this.
