Q. What is LED Lighting and how does it differ from conventional lights like Incandescent bulbs, Fluorescent tubes and Compact Fluorescents ?

A. LED (Light Emitting Diode) is a semiconductor device and produces light by a process known as Electroluminescence. The conventional bulb produces       light by Incandescence of Filament and FLTs & CFLs produce light by a process caLED Fluorescence.

Q. What makes LED Lights more energy efficient compared to other lighting sources ?

A. The LED lights have better luminous efficacy (lumens /Watt) compared to other conventional Light sources.

Q. Why should I change to LED Lights when other lights are available at much lower prices ?

A. Yes, LED Lights do cost much more compared to other Lights. However, being energy efficient Light Sources, you save up to 70 to 80% on you
    energy bills on a monthly basis. Moreover, the life of LED Lights is 7 to 10 times more compared to other lights and you save on replacement costs.         Normally, depending up on usage payback period could be with in1 year to 3 years.

Q. Are there any other advantages of using LED lights ?

A. The LED Lights do not contain any toxic substance like Mercury, which is found in FLTs and CFLs. Further LED Lights generate much lesser heat
