Acid

What is Acid?
An acid is a substance which releases hydrogen ions when dissolved in water. Most acids will dissolve the common metals and will react with a base to form a neutral salt and water. An acid, measured by a pH test, is the opposite of an alkali and has a pH rating lower than 7.0.

The Effects of Acid in your Water
Acid water can often be identified by a sour taste, and is very corrosive to plumbing and fixtures. It will also dry your skin and hair.

Recommendations
A simple acid neutralizer or chemical feed system to raise the pH will correct the problem.
