Serving the society: Not a responsibility, but a privilege.

When a person envisions his plans for the future, he sees his growth, profits, prosperity and success. But there are a few who envision the growth and prosperity of the people who have been a part of this journey. At Mungi, it is not a Social Responsibility to serve the society but a privilege to serve the ones who have helped the company become the institution that it is.

They say ‘Charity begins at home.’ But when it comes to the Mungi family, it is all about taking care of their well-being and happiness. It is indeed the smaller things in life that bring great joy in life; Remembering birthdays & anniversaries, appreciating and rewarding good work, or even making every day life easy.

One of the initiatives at Mungi is the common monthly birthday celebration, where employees who celebrate their birthday in that month cut a cake and are presented with a greeting card each. The greeting cards presented too are a part of yet another initiative. The organisation is associated with Prabhodini and Gharkul, which are institutions for mentally challenged children and women in Nasik, from where the greeting cards are procured. Along with this, every month raddi paper is donated to Gharkul out of which the inmates make paper bags, cups, etc. and sell them in the market.

As a service to the people of the nation, the company has taken up to do their bit towards the families of the farmers who have committed suicide in Maharashtra. Mungi is associated with Adhartirtha Adar Ashram, a shelter for orphans of these farmers. Some of these children who have passed their 12th board examination are being trained and later enrolled as operators in the organisation.

Another youth empowering initiative taken by the organisation is being associated with YIT – Yashasvi Institute of Technology. It is an earn and learn initiative where 12th pass candidates will be provided classroom training on the MEPL premises followed by on-the-job experience. Apart from the training and experience the candidates will get paid for their work, and at the completion of two years of training, they are awarded with a Diploma of Engineering.

These are a few initiatives taken up by the organisation as their ode to the nation and its people; the people who have not only inspired the organisation, but also supported them through their journey to success.
