Paladin Paints & Chemicals Pvt. Ltd. is Promoted by Nadkarni Family. The Company was started in the year 1985 with the name “Vanaprabha”. It was changed to "Paladin Paints & Chemicals" in the year 2000. Paladin’s Strength lies in Developing Novel, Innovative, Specialty, Green Technology & Cost Effective Products.

Mr. Nadkarni was 1st Technical Director of Asian Paints in 1950’s. He is the First Person who started Manufacturing Alkyd Resins in India.

From the year 1960-1994, Mr. Nadkarni was Main Shareholder & Technical Director of M/s. Bombay Paints, which was Licencee of M/s. Hempel Marine Paints of Denmark. In this Period, Mr. Nadkarni Developed various Protective & Marine Paints Formulations, to suit the Specific End Use.

All the Experience Gained while Developing Marine & Protective Coatings, has gone in to Development of Range of Hardeners, Adducts, Diluents & modified Epoxy Resins all based on “Cashew Nut Shell Liquid” (CNSL) Technology.

Paladin has Invested Large Amount of Sum in Resin R&D Laboratory, Instruments, Equipments & People. The Lab is Headed under Able Guidance of Dr. Barde, who has more than 30 years of Experience, in Organic & Polymer chemistry.

All these Specialty Resins and Diluents are Developed from “Cardenol” which is a GREEN TECHNOLOGY RAW MATERIAL. “Cardenol” is Extracted from CNSL. CNSL is an Agricultural Raw Material and is a Renewable Resource. Also, it is not derived from Petroleum. Hence, free from ever changing Petroleum Prices.

The Epoxy Hardeners, i.e. Phenalkamines Developed from Cardenol (Mannich Base) Hardeners and their Epoxy Adducts have Great Advantage over Polyamide resins in terms of Low Temperature Cure, even at High Humidity, Superior Water and Corrosion Resistance. Also, they offer Better Acid, Alkali, Solvent and Chemical Resistance. They show good Adhesion to Damp Surfaces. Also, these Products have Relatively low Viscosity. So, they can be Formulated at Very High Solids, even 100%. This Translates into High Solids/Low VOC Products.

Worldwide Shipbuilding Activities are concentrated in Korea, Japan & China where Average Temperatures are very low, even Minus in winter. Rapid Cure at Very High Humidity make these Phenalkamine Epoxy Hardeners more Suitable and Practical. These Hardeners, with Low Viscosity, are very useful in Formulating High Solids Epoxy Primers, Mid Coats, Floor Coatings etc. Epoxy Reactive and Non-reactive Diluents Developed from Cardenol can be used in Developing Solventless, High Solids Pipe and Tank Coatings, Mastic Coatings, Floor Coatings etc. which are Cost Effective without affecting the Performance. Our Novel One Pack Epoxy Resins Developed from Cardenol are useful in OEM Automotive Applications, PU Hybrid Coatings and User Friendly Onepack Maintenance Coatings.

Our R&D has also Developed a Unique Product range called the "Tropical Range". These are “Phenalkamides” which Offer Best Properties of Phenalkamines & Polyamides. They offer Longer Pot Life, Light Colour, Colour Stability on Exterior Exposure & Resistance List Superior to Polyamide Resins.
