Terminal Automation & POL Depot

Petroleum, Oils and Lubricants (POL) depot consists of strategic storage of crude oil refinery products such as Motor Spirit (MS), Superior Kerosene Oil (SKO) & High Speed Diesel (HSD) in sufficient quantities. The POL depot provides bulk storage facility for various fuels to meet the stocking requirements of various oil companies.

The facility comprises of storage tanks, tank truck loading facilities, fire fighting facilities, CCTV, access control, civil and structural constructions, product pumps and pipelines, electrification, terminal automation & POL depot & fire water system, oil recovery system, oil water separator system, compressed air system and other utility systems..

Terminal Automation & POL Depot Systems (TAS) are installed at bulk loading terminals to control HMI devices and to communicate with field devices such as weigh scales, PLCs, DCSs, Flow Computers and Batch Controllers/Electronic Presets. Modern TASs control activities and processes from vehicle entry into the terminal to vehicle exit with a Bill of Lading (BOL). Most terminals have Automatic Tank Gauging Systems (ATG) tied into TAS, providing a means to compare and reconcile tank level changes to product transfers at the load rack..

Fabtech is setting up such a POL depot for Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL) at Malom, Imphal. The project is currently underway and has duration of 12 months.
