SELECTION OF UNIVERSAL JOINTS
Efficient offers three types of Universal Joints - Ball Type, Hook Type and Needle Roller Type. These are available in Single Ended, Double Ended and Telescopic construction. The choice of joint depends on the Speed, Torque and Transmission Angle. Following are some guidelines for selection of Joints.

Ball Joint:
For High Torque and Low Speed upto 250 RPM and low angle of inclination.

Hook Joint:
For Normal Torque and Speed upto 800 RPM and medium angle of inclination.

Needle Roller Joint:
For Speed above 800 RPM upto 5000 RPM. and high angle of inclination. Ideal for continuous operation and where minimal backlash is important.

Double Ended Joints: For connecting parallel shafts in different planes, shafts seperated by a large distance or shafts with a large working angle Double Ended Universal Joints are used. Available in Ball Type, Hook Type and Needle Roller Type. If the distance between the shafts varies in opration Telescopic Double Ended Universal Joints are used.

Lubrication Retaining Boots: The life of a universal joint can be extended substantiallywith the use of lubrication retaining boot. Wear areas of the universal joint are protected from dirt and contaminants, while lubrication is retained.

FEATURES

Robust Construction All Universal Joints are made from High Grade Alloy Steels and each component is heat treated to reduce wear giving smooth operation over a long period.

Precision Operation The bores of Universal Joints are finished to H7 tolerance reducing play, resulting in smooth transmission of torque between the shaft and Joint. The Alloy Steel construction with proper heat treatment reduces the wear and thus minimizes loss of torque between connecting shafts.

Excellent Lubrication Grease Nipples are provided with Hook Type and Needle Roller Type joints for ease of greasing. There are built in passages to provide lubrication to all moving components. This improves life of the joints by reducing wear.

Large Variety of End Connections Keyway, Straight, Spline, Hexagon, Square arrangement can be provided depending on the customer's requirement.
